Review:
In March of 1974 in northern China, three farmers decide to dig a well. Digging deeply, they discover not water, but a pottery head whose open eyes seem to be staring back at them. Reporting their find to local officials, archeologists soon arrive to see if they can find the body to go with the clay head. What they ultimately uncover stands as one of the major archeological finds of all time.

Ruling from 259 until 210 B.C., the ruthless Qin Shihuang became the first emperor of China. Believing that the afterlife was similar to this life, Qin had an elaborate tomb prepared with thousands of life-size terracotta warriors to guard him for all eternity. Filled with fascinating photographs, which show that every figure is a different individual, the author has written a concise, enthralling account of Qin's silent soldiers.
