Review:
Harry Tortoise wants a friend. He can't connect with Stan Badger and Buster Rabbit; they're in too much of a hurry. Rock and Mushroom don't have much to say. Through his search, Harry remains cheerful and determined.

Before long, he discovers the perfect companion for "Slow races" and games of "Heads In and . . .Heads Out". Waddell's gentle text introduces young readers to characters that are distinct, endearing and even funny. Firth's watercolor and ink illustrations add much charm.

The comforting message, that there is a friend out there for everyone, will appeal to preschoolers of all speeds.
