Circa Classics Baseball
Fall 2003 ToysFashioned after the great classic ballparks of baseball's past, the game's a sweet little diversion from videogames and television. Using the flipper bat, players time their swings to whack the spring-loaded pitched metal marble into play where it drops into holes marked 'out', 'single', 'double', 'triple' or up the launch to the 'homerun' slot.
Circa Classics Baseball is old time fun, made with the authenticity and finesse of a nicely turned double play. Even the included scorecards are toned-down version of real baseball scorecards, so players learn something of scoring real baseball innings.
If the game has a downside, it's the diminutive size. Unlike it's roomy big brother which provides lots of space for slamming the ball, this game is tight on elbow room which proves limiting in its play value. So maybe it's not a grand slam; but it is a hit!
