Review:
Beegu is a charming, bright-yellow alien child who crash-lands on earth and sets out in search of friends. Rabbits, trees, leaves do not respond to her alien-tongued request for help. She thinks she hears her mother calling, but it is only a phone ringing in a booth. She finds puppies to curl up with, but a human tosses her out of their box in the morning. She finally finds a playground full of children who accept her until their teacher appears to send Beegu away. She falls asleep and dreams she hears her mother. This time it is real, and she is beamed into her parent's spaceship. She hopes the small creatures she befriended will remember her fondly.

This sweet, simple story is as individual as Deacon's first effort Slow Loris. Children will see themselves in both Beegu's search for companionship and in the children who easily accept this stranger as a friend.
