The newest I Spy game borrows from the scavenger concept that the visual puzzle "I Spy" book series made popular--which is to look deep into the detail-rich and clever photorealistic 3-D scenes to find everyday objects that almost disappear in the background.

Arousing educational skills such as problem-solving, visual memory, logical deduction, cause and effect, simple reading and listening, but most of all the powers of observation, this title poses three fantastical worlds (nine adventures in all) where players search, explore and unravel riddles--beneath the sea, in a space colony, and at the medieval castle.

Browsing undersea, for instance, players search for gold and jewels lost from a long-ago sunken ship, and along the way come across mermaids, old wrecks, fantastic fish and gorgeous seashells. Three levels of difficulty make this a great challenge for older and younger siblings. Plenty of replay appeal means kids can spend hours examining these plush pictures. Here's a program that's worth looking at!
