Review:
Michael Gay’s precocious zebra, Zee, returns for his second picture book engagement. A much better package than its predecessor, the pastel and grey, soft and rounded illustrations are back, and the story is a bit more suited to American audiences.

Zee wants to stay up late and watch a scary movie with his parents, but they say no because it will give him nightmares and send him off to bed. Zee is so angry he rips his sheets (by accident) and decides to wear the sheet and dress up as a ghost to startle his parents. They decide to play along and run away in fright. However, when all the lights are out, Zee doesn’t want to be a ghost any more. When his parents discover him back in his bed, they all snuggle down for the night. A bedtime story for those who might be a little afraid of the dark.
