Review:
After his Lakota tribe is attacked by white soldiers, Crazy Horse, called Curly in his youth, goes on a “vision quest”. Though he neglects the proper procedure for such a quest, the young man nevertheless succeeds. The vision that comes to him guides him through life. S.D. Nelson’s bold illustrations were inspired by paintings done in the ledger book style of the Plains Indians. The illustrator himself is of Lakota Indian descent.
