Parents may remember the incredible story of the 1980 United States Ice Hockey team's amazing journey to the Olympic Games in Lake Placid. Kids who couldn't possibly remember it will benefit from the re-telling of the story in this movie. Based on one of the greatest moments in sports history, Miracle is about a group of long-haired college kids who come together against overwhelming odds to win a gold medal. But it's also about much more: hard work, tough decisions, patriotism and settling differences through games.

Despite being underdogs with little chance against the powerful Soviet Union, Team USA fought hard, listened to their impossibly demanding coach Herb Brooks (portrayed so well by Kurt Russell you'll forget it's Kurt Russell) and won top prize for their country. The victory prompted broadcaster Al Michaels' now famous question to the millions viewing at home: "Do you believe in miracles?" Yes!

For hockey fans, this classic come-from-behind sports film will be particularly wonderful. For everyone else, the compelling story is a lesson in working for a dream, coaching kids to do their best, and believing in something so much that you make it come true.
