Review:
The Hardy Boys, Encyclopedia Brown. Einstein Anderson and Henry and Mudge and the Sneaky Crackers have long been favorites at our house.

Combining historical information about different codes and descriptions on how to use the codes we set to work. The Morse code set was great but we wished it had letters that were printed so we could see them better. They are in black on black plastic but we loved how we were able to read the letters and press the button underneath so that a red beam sent out the message. Our eight year old, who happens to be fascinated by Greek Mythology, loved the stick code and practiced it over and over. Our seven year old just wouldn’t stop writing code in lemon juice. We created scavenger hunts in code, secret messages and stories.

This is a great way to spend a rainy day, a sunny day, or any day you want to spend time with your children. But be warned. It is contagious and soon you will be writing secret codes to stick in their lunchboxes. Combine it with a favorite mystery novel for an unusual and interesting gift.
