Review:
"Zoobooks" are for children who want to know about an animal in depth. Each issue gives detailed information to children at an accessible reading level. Although our youngest son is always complaining that books at his reading level never give him enough information, "Zoobooks" are one of the few resources that meet his requirements.

In an issue about animal champions we read about the science behind why animals move at the speeds they do. We all stretched to see if we could get our spines to bend like the cheetah...unfortunately no one at our house will be running 70 mph anytime soon. We learned that the folding of a frog's legs is one of the main reasons it can jump so far. We were thrilled to read more about a favorite of ours, the dolphin, in another issue. We enjoyed learning that one way to tell the difference between a dolphin and a porpoise is by the shape of the teeth.

"Zoobooks" are an important resource for schools, libraries and homes. It's no wonder that in our children's school library the pages of theses magazines are well worn and the covers are weary.
