Review:
A well-loved, small child has dubbed the kitchen window at her grandparents' house, the “Hello, Goodbye Window.” In an authentic voice, she recites the various events that unfold on both sides of the window. Happy to see her parents but sad to leave her grandparents, she explains that you can feel happy and sad at the same time.

Norton Juster's text perfectly captures the unintentional egocentric perspective of the young, “When I get tired, I come in and take my nap and nothing happens until I get up.” The extremely loose, exuberant watercolor illustrations leap off the page with happiness and familial love.
