Nick News With Linda Ellerbee

Nick News With Linda Ellerbee

Fall 2000 Television
Ages: 2 - 11 yrs.
Producer: Nickelodeon
Review:
Wearing high top tennis shoes and jeans, Linda Ellerbee urges kids to explore, ask questions and find answers in a show that’s - guess what? - a newscast for kids. One segment is as simple as visiting a 13-year-old boy on a farm, another looks at volcanoes erupting and how and why they do it. An ambitious piece tackled affirmative action, explaining the pros and cons, another feature showed how a man makes rainbows in the sky. “Art imitating nature,” he called it. The shows – whether newsy pieces or quick polls on politics - are well paced and informative, without being too much of a lecture.
