Review:Here, Bill Lepp delivers four tall tales designed to amuse and entertain listeners of all ages. Students can easily relate to the title track story in which most of the fourth graders believed their teacher was actually “Wonder Woman.” A sequence of far-fetched events involving mischievous boys in conflict with the class's “perfect student” (Alicia Snitch) led to the discovery of their teacher's real identity. Subsequent stories continue the tall tale genre, with Das Buck introducing listeners to details of Jack London's adventures (while enjoying fun with language, such as contriving a buck duck decoy ploy). The story content entices young learners to query into the potential truths of several story details—thus providing an opportunity for educational explorations into scientific facts and common sense. Stop Sign Man offers the tall tale in poetic form, and When Pigs Fly ends the CD with a very tall tale about how three men received their college degrees by building a submarine.
