Review:
Tuffy, a natural killer of birds and mice, and Ellie, the tenderhearted girl with whom he lives, prove to be a perverse combination. Ellie lives in a perpetual state of worry over what else Tuffy will bring in through his cat-door. The “else” turns out to be the very dead rabbit belonging to the family next door.

Told in the first person as the diary of Tuffy, Fine delivers the unapologetic tone and the matter-of-fact recital of human folly through the voice of a cat. The author has taken an old joke and given it a fresh, funny interpretation for early readers.
