More than two-dozen nursery rhymes, ranging over a cultural map from Europe to Asia, are accompanied by dances that bring the little ditties to life. Because the camera focuses mostly on the legs and feet of the professional dancers, tap ballet, jazz, and hip-hop movements are made all the more mesmerizing. Adults present the rhymes with lively expression and native accents (where other languages are laced in) while children introduce each poem. Inventive costumes and spare but bold mini-sets offer deeper cultural significance to each number.
