Review:
In each of the five games, Scratch & See, Matchomatic, Feature Finder, Maze Munch, and Animal Expert, users become familiar with animal habits and environments. Children choose the animal (there are 25 in all) they want to learn about, then play a game that helps them earn points so they can successfully put each creature in its proper habitat (which can range from Oceans to Grasslands). Games offer varying levels of difficulty for kids to play at their own pace; the difficulty increases as the player progresses. Whenever a child needs help with a specific inquiry, he can hit the Hint button on the handheld console. The excitement builds to the final game, Animal Expert, where players have to employ the acquired animal knowledge to win. Kids will be exercising skills that include comparing and contrasting, interpreting, classifying, and using vocabulary. The high quality of both images and sound, add to this terrific introduction or supplement to life science education.
