Review:
Even if you haven't seen the movie, the Leapster cartridge for Disney's Ratatouille is great fun--and an extremely clever--computer game for pre-K and 1st graders. Based on the antics of a lovely rat named Remy, the games follow his escapades in the kitchen of one of Paris' most famous chefs, Gusteau. In a series of easy-to-navigate games kids can earn recipes and help Linguine, a line chef, prepare an unforgettable meal. They can help Remy sort food by color and food group...climb to the rooftops of Paris by matching objects in apartment windows...and careen through the Paris sewer system on a cookbook, catching letters as you ride the rapids. The games encourage younger children with reading and math skills, opposites, colors and food groups. Players can become a chef extraordinaire - if you learn essential reading skills and food facts. Learning includes a few recipes to try out in your own kitchen. Bon Appetit !
