Animated five-year old Maggie has a map of Nowhere Land which she inhabits with her sensitive pig Hamilton ("Don't call me Hammy!) Hocks, and the large but decidedly un-ferocious spotted Beast. Twelve short episodes are included in this compilation, with the four featured programs being "What's in the Bag?" (where a bunch of argumentative jelly beans fight over who has the best color), "Rainy Day" (disaster strikes when rain washes away the cardboard box which is Hamilton's home); "Chasing a Rainbow," (the three friends try to reach the end of the rainbow and meet cool B.B. Cat,) and "The Bunny Slippers," which finds Beast embarrassed on the camping trip because his slippers are plain, unlike the others'. The stories all deal with preschooler-level concerns, managing to get across a message of cooperation and support without being didactic or condescending. Gentle and encouraging, our young viewers have requested repeated viewings.
