WordWorld: Rocket to the Moon

Spring 2008 DVD
Ages: 3 - 5 yrs.
Producer: WordWorld
DVD Price: $14.99
Collected segements from the PBS Kids show World World, Rocket to the Moon contains four 10-minute stories in which animated characters act out vignettes that emphasize spelling. For example, in the Pies Pies Pies episode, Pig is trying to makes pies for all of his friends, but doesn't have enough letters to make them. Throughout the vignette, the letters P-I-E are shown in a variety of formats (i.e. in the pie, in the sky) while the characters verbally spell out PIE and eventually P-I-E-S. The title story demonstrates the impact of upper and lower case letters, and in There's an Ant in Every Giant, young viewers watch tiny Ant make a big impact. In World World, learning is a way of life.

In a word, WOW.
