Review:
"Bob's World Meets The Real World!" The unbeatable combination of Bob the Builder's animated characters and footage of real construction equipment at work captivates kids. Younger viewers who love Bob's "cast" will enjoy seeing snippets of them integrated with Bob's narrative of how their real-life counterparts go about building roads and bridges. Bob explains the importance of project planning, from surveying and modeling before the first bit of earth gets turned. The three steps of roadwork (digging, building a foundation, paving) are discussed. During the song, "How Do You Build A Road?" clips of live-action road-building shows the whole process. Three live-action kids also make a road of their own using rocks, sand and water. A new character, animated paper "Little Truck," is in this DVD. He can't "speak" as the regular characters do, but Bob adeptly translates his charmingly incomprehensible mumblings. Educational, fun, and certainly child-centered, this is fun family viewing.
