Review:
Fans of Stephen Huneck's Sally book series will be pleased to see that their favorite black Labrador is back--and this time she's looking for a job. Sally appreciates the fact that she has a nice home full of people who love her, but each day as they leave for work and school, she feels like she should be out there, too, contributing to the world. In Huneck's story, Sally imagines herself in various careers, ranging from zoo keeping to paleontology to becoming a chef, all from a dog's unique perspective. Each scenario is rendered in Huneck's trademark chunky woodblock illustrations newly enhanced with colored pencil. Children will get a laugh seeing that Sally's idea of washing dishes in a restaurant involves licking the plates clean, and that the dinosaur bones in a museum might be a little too tempting for a dog.
