Review:
America's icon of storytelling, Donald Davis, tells three Christmas stories that prompt all listeners to recall some of their own unusual childhood experiences. "The Octopus" describes the humorous consequences of staying on a ride at the county fair that exceeds one's physical stamina and endurance. "Look It Up" returns listeners to classroom times when discipline was quite different than it is today. The final story, "The Red Scooter" triggers memories how confusing it was that Santa Claus could be in so many places at once during the Christmas season.

Davis, a master at various levels of subtle humor, fills his stories with clever understatements and reflective metaphors--and keeps listeners chuckling throughout his performance.
