This friendly chapter book, a follow up to Kennemore's Alice's World Record, has got everything - a know-it-all brother, quirky parents, a rebellious three year old sister, and a vengeful turkey.

Seven-year-old Alice can speak perfectly, except for one word. She can't say "animal" and her older brother tortures her mercilessly about it. Alice doesn't understand why the word just can't be changed to "aminal" so everyone else would have to learn it. To add insult to injury, her teacher announces their semester class project will be "farm animals." And since Alice has "the kind of parents who liked to talk at dinner about what everyone had done that day" there's no getting around discussing it.

To avoid humiliation, Alice finds deft ways around her troublesome word, happily recounting her class farm trip with stories of "creatures" and "livestock", "goats" and "sheep". At the farm she falls in love with a three-legged pig and begs for it as her 8th birthday approaches. But Alice's parents surprise her. It's not her farm pig in the box on the lawn on her birthday, it's even better. And Alice gets the last word when she names it.
