Chances are if you pick up a copy of Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force, you are already a fan of Club Penguin. If that's the case, this Nintendo DS title will look familiar. The Club Penguin world looks the same, and even features some of the same locations. You can customize your penguin and buy clothes for it. You can wander around Club Penguin and play mini-games. What isn't here is the social interaction of the virtual world.

In Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force, players work to become a secret agent and complete missions by solving mysteries around Club Penguin. These missions are standard scavenger hunts. A penguin has the item you need, but won't give it to you until you, for example, fetch a pizza for him. The world isn't incredibly vast, and the game wisely locks you out of places not pertinent to your missions, and yet, it's quite easy to get stuck and not know what to do next. Sometimes other penguins will help you out, and sometimes not. There is some good code breaking required in these missions, though.

Some of the mini-games are more fun than others, but they all have the feeling of playing their online counterparts. Some of the games can be played multiplayer if both players have a copy of the game.

Club Penguin members will be happy to note that coins earned in this game can be uploaded to their online Club Penguin account using Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection. In the end, this game is well-suited for children already immersed in the world of Club Penguin and who really want a version for on the go.
