Review:
Chrissa, a present-day girl moves to a new town and is excluded by a clique of girls. Chrissa must figure out how to cope with bullying and meanness while adjusting to a new environment. True to her American Girl predecessors, Chrissa is well-made, with quality clothes and an appealing face. Breaking with the tradition of other American Girl dolls, this story is current and applicable to many of today's young girls. Story discussions stemmed from this book included: What to do if someone is mean to you? What if the teacher doesn't know? What if they want you to be mean to someone else, so they will like you? Relevant and realistic, Chrissa will promote play and conversation.
