Review:
Sassy endures all of the hardships of being the youngest member of her family and the smallest girl among her friends. She is no stoic, however, and kicks against her misfortunes, even though her teacher, like all grownups, reminds her, “Sometimes being little is a good thing.” As well as having a vivid imagination with which to entertain her friends, nine year-old Sassy has something else they all envy. Her grandmother, a colorful professional storyteller, made her a wonderful bag of satin, silk and velvet covered with sequins and sparkles. Sassy calls it her “Sparkle Sack” and keeps everything she–and many of her friends–could possibly need in it.

In this good-natured, humorous story, the spunky and beguiling heroine is perfectly suited for those beginning to read chapter books.
