OLIVIA

OLIVIA

Spring 2010 Television
Ages: 3 - 6 yrs.
Producer: Chorion
Network: Nick Jr.
Review:
Based on the books by Ian Falconer, this half-hour TV series stars a charismatic pig with a talent for turning run of the mill events into over the top adventures. The TV series has the same charming tone as the books but offers an updated computer-animated look that will appeal to kids ages 3 to 6.

Olivia has a big personality that is full of imagination, curiosity, and spontaneity. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she always manages to enlist friends in her escapades-- whether she's taking ballet lessons, organizing an ice-skating show, or videotaping a news report on a snowy day. But Olivia's not into hogging the spotlight (bad pun intended). Instead, she imparts a "more the merrier" message that will help young viewers understand positive social dynamics. Storylines also offer themes about being helpful, building confidence, accepting responsibility, and learning patience.

Olivia is all about diving into life and creating those joyous moments of discovery and pure fun that are the stuff of a happy childhood. For parents who limit their kids' television viewing, this half hour is a worthwhile investment.
