Review:
The Dangerous Book for Boys - Essential Electronics set is an electronics kit inspired by the Dangerous Book for Boys, a text encouraging boys to experiment and play in ways boys of past generations did.

The set teaches the basics of electronics and electricity, including qualitative descriptions of the physics involved and the basic mathematics of power. It includes connections to power, resistors, capacitors and transistors, wires, a motor, and the framework for working with these, as well as some basic metallic objects for experimentation with electricity. Kids will love seeing the LEDs light up and the motor fly.

Essential Electricitronics lets children explore very real electronics equipment at a safe level, providing both the tools and the instruction necessary to build anything from simple closed-circuit conductivity tests and the advanced motor-driven designs. The components included are the same used by college-aged engineering students and electronics designers building circuit boards, but here age-appropriate information delivers explanations from the ground up.

And we'd be remiss if we didn't point out the obviously irksome title: "The Dangerous Book for Boys" - it is neither dangerous (if used according to instruction) nor just for boys. Building circuits is creative AND technical; girls fully participated in and enjoyed the creativity and experimentation of this set.
