The object of Q-bitz is to arrange cubes with geometric designs to match the patterns shown on cards. Each player has his or her own set of sixteen cubes in a wooden tray. A stack of one hundred twenty Q-bitz cards sits placed face down in the center of the playing area. In the first round, players race to get the cubes in their tray to match the drawn card. The first to do so keeps the card. The second round is similar, except that players have to roll their cubes and may use only those whose face-up view fits the card pattern. Players can roll again and again until they have completed their image, but only the first takes the card. The third round is the most difficult of all. Players have ten seconds to study the card, which is then flipped over and players must replicate the pattern from memory. The one who has collected the most cards is the winner. Varied game play is possible, and not all rounds need be played.
