Spotcha!

Spotcha!

Fall 2010 Games
Ages: 8 & Up
Manufacturer: Wonder Forge Inc.
Price: $19.99
Review:

This quick-think matching game starts off with players tossing eighteen small plastic Spotcha! objects on a tabletop and taking a good look at how each one lands. The little pink sofa might land on its side, the police cruiser upside-down, the shipping crate with its arrow pointing up, and the castle standing upright. Players don't need to memorize all of this; they just ought to take note.

Then, the first of fifty cards is turned over to reveal four of the items lying in various positions. Some of these items will match those on the table. The first player to see that the rock guitarist, for instance, is lying on his side just like he is on the card, grabs the correct color-coded plastic flag and scores. Players keep turning over cards until all of the objects have been matched or all of the cards used. Then the game is over. Whoever has the most points wins.

Though Spotcha! game play is fast and grabby, it is probably better suited for younger kids who might not find it quite as monotonous to look over the same eighteen objects and same deck of cards game after game. Diminishing returns may be a problem for older kids.
