RobinAgeSpring 2011 Magazines
RobinAge is a weekly newspaper published in India for students ages 7-14. Parents' Choice first reviewed this publication in 2009, and has watched its steady improvements each year since. The oversized glossy pages offer a great deal of information from which to choose. Although the brightly colored page design can strike some readers as a bit frenzied, navigating the diverse stories, world news, sports, activities, and other segments is certainly worth the effort.
"Creating Bright Sparks", the publication's tagline, fits its content well. Features such as "Slice of History" promote cross-country knowledge and language exchange. For each of the two areas of India profiled monthly, an activity box encourages readers to discover words from the language spoken in that area. As in years past, each edition offers a doubled sided one page pull out section titled EOTO, Each One Teach One, designed for readers to help teach fellow citizens functional English, both spoken and written, use games, puzzles and written exercises. We continue to applaud the publishers for devoting resources to a campaign asking young citizens to help other learn. It doesn't get much better than that.
