Review:

Middle-schooler Benjamin Pratt returns in the second installment of Andrew Clements' Keepers of the School series. The intrigue that surrounds Oak School is only deepening, and the building is still in danger of being torn down. As the story opens, Ben is trying "for invisibility" in order to work on the case, but that's proving difficult now that he's being hailed as a hero for saving another character in book one. To complicate things further, the janitor working with Ben to guard to the school has died, an imposter is proving to be a menace to the mission, and Ben's friend Jill won't confide in him. This audio version, read once again by Broadway performer Keith Nobbs, clocks in at 3.5 hours--about an hour longer than book one, but the mystery and brisk pace should sustain young fans, as well as their parents. This is a must-hear for readers who have been following Ben on his quest.
