Review:

In the LEGO game Banana Balance, players take turns adding and removing bananas and branches on a lopsided tree while trying to avoid a troublesome monkey who steals bananas. Moves are based on the roll of the die, and the game ends when the tree falls over or the bananas run out, with the player holding the most bananas being declared the winner. The rules are simple to follow and the silliness of the circumstances are very appealing, especially to younger players. We tested with children as young as 3, and even at this age they were more or less able to follow game play, and delighted at the collapse of the tree. As with other LEGO games, the manufacturer encourages players to tweak the rules to suit the players, offering some suggestions as to how to proceed along this path. However, older players will still not find enough in this game to hold their interest for long, so it is ideally suited to children 8 and under.
