Dinosaur Train

Spring 2011 Television
Ages: 3 - 6 yrs.
Network: PBS
Review:

Dinosaur Train is a winning combination of two things young kids love: dinosaurs and trains. A welcome addition to the PBS Kids line-up last year, the show has continued to entertain and educate children through the adventures of Buddy, a young Tyrannosaurus Rex adopted by a Pteranodon family. Each episode, Buddy and his siblings Shiny, Tiny and Don, and their mother board the Dinosaur Train to travel to different time periods and learn about the dinosaurs that lived during those eras. Each episode presents fun and interesting facts about dinosaurs that roamed the land, air and sea. You might learn, for example, that there was a dinosaur called the "T-Rex of the Ocean". In between the animated adventures, paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson shares more interesting facts about dinosaurs.

The catchy theme song at the beginning of the show immediately excites kids about what adventures lie ahead that day. If you're going to give your kids some daily viewing time, you can take comfort in knowing that Dinosaur Train is a power-packed 30 minutes of quality, educational fun.
