Review:

The Kitchen Science kit by 4M Industrial Development Limited includes materials for conducting a variety of hands-on experiments. Most of the experiments will be quite familiar to parents: the erupting volcano, invisible ink and the fruit battery. But children can also become "Kitchen Detectives" using the kitchen spy fingerprint development pad, brush, fingerprint record sheets adhesive tape and corn starch (not included). This experiment even includes information on fingerprints, their patterns and fun facts. There are also materials and instructions for creating a vinegar rocket and homemade rock candy!

Each experiment is clearly and concisely explained with simple language and complete illustrations. After each explanation, there is background information and vocabulary for the experiment as well as a fun facts section. The kit engages children with fun, easy-to-conduct experiments and activities while teaching core science concepts including, but not limited to, Newton's three laws, crystal formation and static electricity. Conducting the instructions hones key developmental skills such as following of instructions, sequencing, hand-eye coordination and fine motor function. The Kitchen Science kit is a valuable addition to the budding scientist's collection.
