Review:

Friends Emily, Ashley, Kaitlyn and Claire already have the “party dresses, party hair,” and now they need the perfect party shoes to wear. This lighthearted picture book by Karen Beaumont follows four young girls as they search for the right shoes to accessorize their fancy outfits. Along the way they try out "Shoes with zippers, shoes with straps, shoes with buckles, shoes with taps," but nothing seems quite right. That is, until they leave the store and have a creative brainstorm back at home. Young children who are into dress-up will enjoy this playful story, and the simple, rhyming text makes it a good read-aloud book. LeUyen Pham’s illustrations are whimsical, a bit retro, and full of color.
