Review:

Monkey wants the delicious mangoes that grow on an island in the middle of the river where Crocodile dwells. Monkey has a close call when he accepts the invitation of Crocodile to ferry him across the river on his back. Monkey is a fast learner while our villain is anything but. Clever Monkey wins the mangoes on a regular basis by outsmarting dim-witted Crocodile.

Depicted in collage against a bold red background, skinny brown monkey has round, black-button eyes and a cheerful expression. Crocodile has evil, hooded, yellow eyes and appears in various bumpy guises in the blue river flowing across the bottom of each double-page spread. Sure to be loved to shreds by its intended audience, this trickster tale is a mischievous masterpiece.
