Review:

Pilotwings Resort 3DS is the third in a series of such games started by Nintendo in 1991. The player can fly a plane, jet pack or hang glider over tropical Wuhu Island. There are two modes: Mission Flight, in which the player completes over forty missions at four levels, and Free Flight, in which the player collects hundreds of items from all around the island. As the player completes various missions, he earns stars for his performance. In turn, these stars unlock new classes (training, bronze, silver, gold and platinum) and new missions.

Some of the missions and flight modes include somewhat complicated controls, which may frustrate younger players. The fact that the controls are different for each aircraft adds to this difficulty.

The game saves automatically in one of four available memory slots; this feature is helpful for younger players, who may forget to save their game before turning off the console. The four save positions also allows for multiple players to use the game at different times, which is a nice feature considering the game is nearly $40.00.

Pilotwings Resort 3DS is a unique, entertaining and non-violent game that children of a wide variety of ages can enjoy for hours.
