The only way this game works is as a party game, and even then you'd better be ready to draw and sketch-and hope that everyone at the party is willing to as well. You don't need to be a great artist to play. In fact, if you were it wouldn't be all that much fun, since much of this game depends on guessing what it is another player has sketched.

Combining elements of Pictionary with the classic "Telephone" game, where "art" substitutes for the whispered secret passed from one player to the next (up to eight players), Telestrations contains 2,400 Telestrations words on two hundred cards. It also comes with eight erasable Telestrations sketch books and eight erasable markers. The most fun is when it comes time for players to guess what other players' drawings are.

The rules for Telestrations are somewhat elaborate, but we like that you can take the contents from the Telestrations box, ditch the rules, and play it as a draw-and-guess game anyway you please.
