Review:

Kids love the Guinness Book of World Records for the amusing, amazing, and often completely pointless things people will do to get on its pages. The new Guinness card series contains six separate sets, grouped by topics like "Super Sports," "Baffling Bodies" and "Funky Foods." Each set contains fifty-four cards with Guinness-confirmed information and color photos illustrating the greatest, strangest, oldest, and other superlative feats. Examples include "Fastest 10K Race in a Costume: Two Person" won by two British guys wearing a camel costume, "Longest Hair: Female" held by a woman in China whose tresses rival Rapunzel's at eighteen feet, five and a quarter inches long, and "Largest Chocolate," the 30,540 pound giant "kiss" in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Apparently the publishers intend these cards to be the next kid fad, encouraging children to "collect-trade-share" the cards. They're the right size for stocking-stuffers, but kids who really love trivia might prefer their own copy of the Guinness Book of World Records, which keeps all the interesting facts together in one place and won't get scattered throughout the house.
