Highlights
Spring 2012 MagazinesThe same magazine that I remember looking through and doing classic hidden picture games in as a kid is still here and as fun as ever for the next generation of young readers. The magazine is filled with age-appropriate things to read, do and create. There are a variety of fictional and non-fictional stories at various reading levels that children can read on their own or with a parent. The games and activities also vary in their level of difficulty, making this a magazine that can truly grow with your child. Although Highlights is recommended for children ages six to twelve, we found that several testers as young as three to four years greatly enjoyed the magazine while reading it with a parent.
What makes Highlights a great choice in children's magazines is that it covers so many subjects within each issue. Kids can learn about the life of a yak, how the earth looks at night and about the chef that cooks for the president. In between interesting articles like these there are math and word games, the beloved hidden pictures, crafts, poems, jokes and pages where kids share their own artwork. Year after year, this timeless magazine packs loads of learning and fun into its pages making it a perennial favorite.
