Yoga MotionSpring 2012 DVD
Yoga Motion offers a collection of yoga routines aimed at little ones aged two through seven. The ten yoga routines can be played in their entirety or by chapter. Viewers can even customize a pose play list. Each chapter is about three minutes long and provides just enough of a challenge to keep little yogis focused without becoming frustrated. Jacket copy says two of the yoga routines can be adapted as part of a relaxation routine to help children unwind at bedtime.
The host and yoga instructor, Lindsay, isn't a trained TV talent, but she's youthful, pleasant, and welcoming as she guides viewers through the moves. The set for Yoga Motion is unapologetically spare. In a parent-information sequence, Lindsay explains that the all-white background will help children focus on the yoga moves without being distracted by clutter on the set. We agree. However, at times, the minimal production could use a bit of polish to improve its pace. This is particularly true during transitions, when a little music and consistent audio quality would help. Despite these distractions, Yoga Motion provides forty minutes of friendly instruction to introduce young children to the Yoga movement that's sweeping the nation.
