Review:

The National Geographic Weird But True! iPad app is an interactive eBook with many bells and whistles. Children navigate through a multitude of bizarre and fun facts in a large variety of subjects ranging from "abracadabra" and "African dust" to "Yoda" and "zebras." Upon accessing a fact, readers have options to add sound effects, favorite the fact, rate its weirdness on the Weird-O-Meter scale, or share it with friends via email, Twitter or Facebook. The app even includes a Fact Finder option, which is an alphabetical index of topics included. Each week, fans vote for the top Weird-O-Meter facts which are displayed on the iPad. The interesting facts, funny sound effects and the very interactive nature of the app are bound to engage kids in a fun and educational foray into the weird but true!
