The Adventures of Chuck and FriendsSpring 2012 Television
The Adventures of Chuck and Friends, airing on The Hub (formerly known as Discovery Kids), is a series produced by Hasbro Studios.
This time it's Tonka Chuck, and as you'll learn in the cheerful theme song, this little dump truck has big dreams and a "tank full for adventure." Those adventures usually require Chuck and his four-wheeled friends to employ basic problem-solving skills. For instance, in the episode "Speed Indeed," the gang sets out to invent the fastest model truck ever - but they fall far short of their goal. Instead of giving in to disappointment, they seek help from an expert and use logic and research to figure out what it will take to build a better truck. Other plot problems include challenges familiar to little viewers, such as sharing, respecting each other's differences, and standing up to bullies.
The Adventures of Chuck and Friends promotes teamwork and basic critical-thinking skills, and as long as you don't succumb to the oh-so-evident merchandising motive, the program is likely to hold a lot of rough-and-tumble appeal to its target audience, boys aged two to five.
