IQ Twist
Spring 2012 GamesIQ Twist is a set of logic puzzles requiring players to arrange each of seven, mostly irregularly-shaped pieces onto a 4x8 grid according to the restrictions laid out by color-coded pins in the grid. Pieces cannot overlap pins of a differing color. Puzzles are ranked from "starter" to "wizard" in five levels. Starter puzzles are immediately tricky, and by even the second level the puzzle begins to feel more like an exercise in patience to work through each possible layout than like a true logical analysis. By the time one tackles the most difficult puzzles, the challenge becomes tedious, leading to a feeling of relief rather than triumph at the completion of a grid. The game setup is conveniently compact and self-contained, making it an ideal set for travel, and as an affordable game it would make a great gift for a child at the start of a long trip.
