The 7 Habits of Happy Kids GameSpring 2012 Games
It is obvious that a lot of thought was put into the creation and design of the "7 Habits of Healthy Kids" game. This is one of those games that seem almost too good to be true. The illustration style is adorable and engaging, the set-up is easy to follow, and the message is priceless. The game starts off after each player picks their character. The die is rolled by the youngest, and the learning begins. This game is fun and interactive, and although the title boasts "seven" habits, I think it teaches much more than seven. The habits that are meant to be learned are: Be proactive, have a plan, put first things first, everyone can win, listen before you talk, synergize, and balance. Each one of these sections has immeasurable depth. While playing the game, kids learn sharing, planning, thoughtfulness, helping, teamwork, encouragement, and much, much more. I will admit, this game even got me thinking about how I could improve in each of these areas! By looking at the box, I was certain there was no way this game could provide everything it offered, but I was mistaken - it taught us all more, and it was fun.
