Review:

This is the adorable fourth installment in Daniel Kirk's Library Mouse picture book series. As the title suggests, Sam and his friend Sarah leave the library and explore the museum next door. Sam is a bit nervous since he has never been away from the library before, but Sarah's sense of adventure gives him courage to step out of his comfort zone. With explorer's journals in hand, Sam and Sarah encounter a whole new world of art and artifacts, from paintings and sculptures to fossils and Egyptian treasures. Art-savvy readers will recognize works by Degas and Rousseau among others, as well as some mouse-centric takes on Van Gogh and Da Vinci. This is a welcome addition to the series, and an enjoyable story for young children.
