Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure
Fall 2012 FictionStar Wars: A Galactic Pop-Up Adventure is a fantastic book for anyone even remotely interested in the Star Wars chronicles, or the fun and art of pop-up books in general. It's filled with dazzling treats on every page - including a real glowing lightsaber.
Matthew Reinhart is a well-known pop-up artist. An earlier book Star Wars: A Pop-Up, along with his Encyclopedia Prehistorica and Encylopedia Mythologica series were all New York Times bestsellers for good reason. His books are packed with interesting information, beautiful artwork and eye-popping paper designs. They are teeming with goodies.
While Reinhart's first Star Wars pop-up book focused on the three original Star Wars movies, this book covers the characters and storylines of the three prequels plus the Clone Wars. The art takes center stage but the narrative is engaging, too. Heroes, villains, plots and subplots of the Star Wars saga are covered in-depth.
Each page of the book opens up to a main piece, with related pockets of smaller pop-ups on either side. The pop-ups are elaborate so care is required in opening and closing them.
There's enough great content here to captivate all ages for hours.
