Where's My Water? is a game that encourages problem solving and creative thinking, while developing a child's intuitive understanding of physics concepts (how water flows, how water rebounds off of surfaces). Children attempt to guide a stream of running water from its source to the spout of Swampy the Alligator's bathtub.

Both my 6- and 9-year-olds were engaged in playing for extended periods of time. In fact, my husband and I enjoyed playing, too. Each level is a new puzzle. As an adult, it takes a while to figure out what is expected, but that did not seem to bother my children. Typical game flow involves playing the same level over and over until you solve it. This teaches perseverance and experimentation, too. Over the lifecycle of this app, Disney has released numerous updates (for example, adding more and different obstacles) to keep it interesting; some levels have bad water, some have acid or other variables. It truly is an original game that appeals to all ages.

My one criticism is that many levels have a clue to how to solve them in the title of the level (e.g. a level called "Smash the Water," in which you have to bring two streams of water together.) This approach puts kids who can't read at a disadvantage in playing. They may need to ask parents or older siblings for help in case there are clues they are missing.
