Review:

Peppa Pig is an animated interstitial television program, which means that each episode is about 5 minutes long and runs between regularly scheduled programs. Produced in Great Britain, the show airs in the U.S. on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. channel.

The series highlights charming little Peppa, a preschool aged pig. She's joined by her parents and little brother George, and a cast of other animals in the community. Rabbits, sheep, cats, and dogs all live together in a human-inspired world. They drive cars and live in nicely furnished homes, but they retain their animal mannerisms. Peppa and the other pigs' conversation is peppered with snorts and grunts and they eat like, well, pigs.

Storylines are sweet and simple, and the animation is uncluttered, in a manner reminiscent of a preschooler's drawing style. A narrator supplies some of the plot information and simple dialogue expresses the rest, making each short program easy for even very young viewers to follow. The underlying message is usually about the joys and responsibilities of being part of a loving family. With its feel-good scenarios and gentle humor, Peppa Pig is sure to make little viewers grin.
